Outlook Sign-in Process via Sky One Presentation Server

Purpose

This process is used when a user needs to update their Microsoft Outlook credentials on the Sky One Presentation Server.


Procedure

1. Collect User Information

  • Request the user's public IP address.
  • Confirm the user's company 

2. Submit Sky One Request

  • Create a ticket with Sky One requesting the user's IP address be whitelisted for the Presentation Server.
  • Wait for confirmation that the IP has been successfully whitelisted.

3. Schedule a Remote Session

  • Arrange a meeting with the user once the whitelist request has been completed.

4. Retrieve User Login Information

From the Sky One Admin Portal, obtain the user's Presentation Server login.

Example:

  • Domain: autosky02\sapbo
  • User ID: 151b2350-d664-427d
  • Full Login: autosky02\151b2350-d664-427d

5. Start the Presentation Server

  • Log in to the Sky One Admin Portal.
  • Start the Presentation Server for the customer's environment.

6. Provide RDP Connection Details

Share the following information with the user during the meeting:

  • Computer: XXX.00.000.XXX:50491
    • (Server IP may vary by customer; port is typically 50491.)
  • Username: autosky02\<UserID>
  • Password: User's Sky One password

7. Connect to the Presentation Server

  • Have the user open Remote Desktop Connection (RDP).
  • Enter the server address and login credentials.
  • Verify the user successfully connects to the Presentation Server.

8. Update Outlook Credentials

Inside the Presentation Server:

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Sign in with the user's Microsoft 365 credentials.
  3. If prompted, complete any MFA verification.

9. Disable Cached Exchange Mode

In Outlook:

File → Account Settings → Account Settings → Select Email Account → Change

  • Disable Use Cached Exchange Mode (if enabled).
  • Save the changes.

10. Exit the Presentation Server

  • Have the user close Outlook and disconnect from the RDP session.

11. Republish the Presentation Server

  • From the Sky One Admin Portal, republish the Presentation Server.

12. Verify the Configuration

  • Notify the user that the Presentation Server has been republished.
  • Ask the user to:
    • Log out of Sky One.
    • Log back in.
    • Open Outlook.

Outlook should open and remain signed in automatically.



Troubleshooting

If Outlook does not sign in automatically after republishing:

  • Verify the Microsoft credentials.
  • If the issue persists, create a Sky One Support ticket for further investigation.
